After you have fried food, do you know how to clean up stains on stainless steel stackable cookware or nonstick cookware? Are baking soda and vinegar really useful? Let us study together.

What materials are needed to clean a burnt pot or pan

1 cup vinegar

2 tablespoons baking soda

water

Double-sided sponge

Pro tip: The vinegar should be white vinegar. Any brand of baking soda can do this. Before adding the baking soda, make sure that the vinegar and water mixture has boiled a bit, as this will help loosen some of the burnt food.

Cleaning instructions and steps

1. Mix water and vinegar, then boil in a burnt pan or pot. Once it boils, cook for a few more minutes, which will help loosen some of the burnt food.

2. Remove the pan from the heat and add the baking powder. Now, this will bubble, so don't panic. It is a good idea to do this on the counter, as some water may overflow. Just make sure your hands are not there.

3. Let it sit until it is complete, this should last a few minutes. You can then pour it out and use a sponge to clean the stainless steel pots and pans. This should remove most (if not all) of the burnt food, and if there is some leftover, you can add more baking powder to the area and scrub with a sponge.

How to clean pots of different materials

We generally use traditional iron pans for cooking. The reason why such pans are not easy to rust is because there is a layer of oil film on the dishes that protect the iron inside. After we clean the pot, dry it on the fire and let it cool, then add a few drops of oil in, and wipe it evenly with kitchen paper. What should we do if our iron pan is rusty? In fact, it's very simple. We dip potatoes with some coarse salt, then wipe the rusty area of the pot, clean the rust, and then clean it.

Stainless steel pot material is not easy to rust, but if we accidentally burnt, it will leave black marks on it, which looks very ugly. If this situation is not too serious, you can add some food-grade citric acid to the detergent, and then wash it with warm water, so that the brush will come out relatively clean. If the situation is serious, we use some baking soda, soak it for 15 minutes after boiling, and then scrub it is easier.  If you are not sure about the hardness of the coating, just cook the water and vinegar for a while, as this will further soften the burnt food. If you have a soft sponge, this will help protect the coating. If the burnt food does not fall off the first time, you can repeat this process until it falls off.
