Methods to Maintain Non-stick Cookware

In daily life, most family use non stick cookware to cook foods. If you spend some time and energy to properly use and maintain non-stick cooking pot, your cookware will keep new. When using non stick cooking utensils, you had better to pay attention to the following aspects:

 

1. When using a new non stick cookware for the first time, you should tear off the label and rinse it with clean water and wipe dry, and then apply a thin layer of cooking oil for maintenance. In order to ensure non-stick performance from the beginning, the standard way is to lightly coat the surface with any type of cooking oil, bake and clean it before use.

2. The important thing to use non-stick cookware is that you do not use metal utensils on the surface of the non-stick pan. They will instantly damage the coating on it. Choose the materials such as wood, nylon, plastic, rubber or silicone, or use special coating appliances designed for non-stick surfaces. Never use a knife to cut the food you are cooking. This is an incorrect way to damage the surface of pot and it will void the warranty. So, when cooking in non toxic non stick cookware, you had better to use heat-resistant nylon, plastic or wooden spatula to avoid sharp spatula or metal utensils from damaging the surface of the non stick pan.

 

3. Since kitchen non-stick cookware transfer heat evenly, you only need to use medium to low heat for delicious food when using. When using a high fire, there must be food or water in the pot.

 

4. It is essential to let the cookware completely cool down before washing, and it may make it permanently warp and destroy it. After use, you should wait for the temperature to drop slightly, and then wash it with clean water. Do not wash it immediately with cold water. If there are some stubborn stains on pot, you can use hot water with detergent, and use a sponge to clean it. Do not use rough emery cloth or metal balls to scrub vigorously and be careful not to use cleaners such as bleach, scrub cleaner or other chemicals on non-stick surfaces.

5. Keep your non stick pot clean for good quality performance. We know that any food residue or remaining fat will cook to the surface and carbonize, causing food to stick. Cooked residues are hard to see and even more difficult to remove, so wash them carefully and thoroughly every time.

 

6. Finally, careful storage is very important for the longevity and performance of non stick cookware. Most manufacturers recommend that you should store your cookware on hanging pot racks and leaving enough space between items. No hangers? You may store your cookware safely in the cabinet by layering a soft cloth between each pot and pan to prevent non-stick surfaces from contacting exposed metal, which may scratch or damage it.
